Our first post-pandemic initiative was a successful fresh start. Twelve members partnered with the local charity
crann.ie to plant approximately 250 trees in Santry Park. Crann is the Irish word for ‘tree.’
Why this cause?Planting trees is one of the most effective measures against our present climate and biodiversity crises. Native woodlands provide a habitat for birds, mammals, and other plants, sequester carbon, and clean our air. We planted a combination of Hazel, Willow, and Elder—all native species—and learned techniques for propagating cuttings from existing trees.
What’s nextWe’re delighted about further opportunities for impact as part of Lens for Change. We’ve already had several proposals, including beach cleanups, wildflower planting, expert talks on recycling, and other discussions on critical green issues.
Another remarkable effort for change includes the new Dublin office. Here, the Green Team partnered with our Workplace Experience team to make the office as sustainable as possible by implementing measures such as sorting waste disposal, zero-waste snacks, and green electricity suppliers.
